Born in Treviso in 1977, Marco Rigamonti is a writer, researcher, and scholar of esoteric doctrine and chivalric tradition. He currently serves as Grand Master of the Prieuré de Sion, having received the mantle of authority through legitimate initiatic transmission, in accordance with the laws and customs of the Order.
Faithful to the spirit of traditional knighthood, he has undertaken the work of restoring, safeguarding, and ordering the ritual, symbolic, and philosophical corpus of the Prieuré de Sion. Drawing upon ancient chivalric rites, initiatic teachings, and transmitted knowledge, he has articulated a coherent Rule of the Order, ensuring both continuity of lineage and doctrinal integrity while rendering the chivalric path operative in the present age.
In his capacity as Grand Master, he acts as Custodian of the Tradition, guarantor of initiatic legitimacy, and official representative of the Institution at an international level, upholding the principles of honour, discipline, fidelity, and interior sovereignty that have defined the chivalric vocation across centuries.
The Prieuré de Sion, whose origins extend back nearly a millennium, has endured periods of concealment, persecution, and historical obscurity, remaining faithful to its mission through the preservation of its inner transmission. In modern times, the Order entered public awareness through historical and literary works such as The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail by Lincoln, Baigent, and Leigh, and later through the novel The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
In 2015, the Order was formally re-registered to reaffirm its institutional and chivalric continuity. The Prieuré de Sion – Ordre de la Rose-Croix Véritas (O.D.L.R.C.V.) received the initiatic transmission of the Plantard de Saint-Clair lineage through Gino Sandri, thereby ensuring the lawful succession of the Grand Magisterium and the uninterrupted transmission of the chivalric Tradition.
